The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service is conducting a market survey for mechanical vegetation manipulation services in support of six national forests in California's North Zone/Region 5, including Klamath, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta-Trinity, and Six Rivers National Forests. The objective is to gather information on industry capabilities, expected costs, and timelines for mechanical fuels reduction treatments aimed at improving timber stand health and reducing wildfire risks. These services are critical for maintaining forest ecosystems, enhancing wildlife habitats, and ensuring community safety amidst increasing wildfire threats. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their responses by January 28, 2025, to Veronica Beck at veronica.beck@usda.gov, with inquiries due by January 21, 2025.
