The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking input for its "Education for Social Prosperity" initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in the Kasai region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This Request for Information (RFI) invites feedback from a diverse range of stakeholders, including private sector actors, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions, to inform the design of a $12-14 million program focused on increasing access to safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive learning for children aged 6 to 17, particularly addressing high dropout rates and gender disparities in education. Responses to the RFI are due by January 24, 2025, and will be used to identify best practices and strategies for community engagement, child protection, and school-based health services, with all feedback remaining confidential. Interested parties can contact Myra Kadima at mkadima@usaid.gov or the DRC OAA Mailbox at drcoaa@usaid.gov for further information.
