The USAID West Africa office is preparing to issue a pre-solicitation notice for a cooperative agreement titled "Moderate Voices of Peace," aimed at countering violent extremism and promoting democracy, human rights, and governance in West Africa. The project will focus on amplifying moderate voices of peace through various strategies, including strengthening local narratives, enhancing dialogue on conflict mitigation, and expanding access to information, particularly in Burkina Faso, Chad, and Niger, with potential expansion to Cameroon. This initiative is critical for addressing the vulnerabilities to violent extremism in the Sahel region, with an estimated total program funding of $25 million and a projected award ceiling of $25 million. Interested organizations, including NGOs, PVOs, and educational institutions, are encouraged to monitor Grants.gov for the forthcoming Request for Application (RFA) and may contact Samuel Nwanokwu at snwanokwu@usaid.gov for further inquiries.
