The Department of Defense, through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA Aviation), is conducting market research to identify potential sources for providing advanced airworthy additive manufacturing capabilities to NAVAIR. The primary objective is to deliver, install, and certify six Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing systems, including three M2 Series 5 machines and three M Line Series 1 machines, along with the necessary technology transfer and material property data, within a 24-month period, ideally completing the project in 18 months. This procurement is critical for enhancing NAVAIR's manufacturing capabilities and may lead to a contract that could be set aside for small businesses or open to full competition, depending on the responses received. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their capability statements by January 6, 2026, to Emily Beall at emily.beall@dla.mil, with inquiries directed to her at (445) 737-0265.
