Special Notice: NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION is seeking inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market flow control devices. These devices, developed by NASA's Langley Research Center, are used to control fluid flow in order to improve performance and fuel efficiency. The devices, known as fluidic oscillators, can be embedded into control surfaces such as wings or turbine blades to generate bursts of fluid that enhance lift, reduce drag, or enhance heat transfer. NASA offers two new designs that address limitations of these oscillators, including decoupling the oscillation frequency from the amplitude and enabling synchronization of an entire array. Interested parties can submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS). No funding is provided by NASA for these licenses. For more information, visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal. No follow-on procurement is expected from this notice.
