The Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting market research for the Port of Nome Modification Phase 1A project in Nome, Alaska. This project entails a significant construction effort, including a 1,200-foot extension of the existing Nome Causeway, featuring a layered aggregate and rock embankment, a 30-foot wide road surface, and a 600-foot long OpenCell™ sheet pile dock, along with the removal of existing structures. The estimated contract value ranges from $250 million to $500 million, and interested firms must submit a capabilities package by November 22, 2024, to demonstrate their qualifications, including relevant experience and bonding capacity, to Tammy Davis at tammy.davis@usace.army.mil.
