Description

The Agricultural Marketing Service is offering the Local Food Promotion Program Fiscal Year 2024 grant. This grant aims to fund projects that develop, coordinate, and expand local and regional food business enterprises. The program focuses on supporting the processing, distribution, and storage of local and regional food products, encouraging the development of value-added agricultural products, and assisting with business development plans and feasibility studies. It also aims to develop marketing strategies for producers of local food and value-added products, facilitate regional food chain coordination, and promote new business opportunities and marketing strategies to reduce on-farm food waste. Additionally, the grant covers expenses related to obtaining food safety certification and improving food safety practices and equipment. The grant has an award ceiling of $500,000 and an award floor of $25,000. The estimated total program funding is $10,500,000, and it is expected to fund 150 projects. The deadline for applications is May 14, 2024. For more information, refer to the RFA and contact FMLFPPgrants@usda.gov.
