The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is forecasting a Request for Information (RFI) for the anticipated Strengthening Local Health Security Activity in Vietnam, aimed at enhancing the country's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to emerging infectious diseases over a potential five-year period. This initiative, which may provide funding of up to $21.5 million, emphasizes a One Health approach to improve health security at subnational levels, addressing critical issues such as zoonotic disease prevention, enhanced surveillance, and effective risk communication. Given Vietnam's vulnerability due to high population density and agricultural practices, the program seeks to refine disease surveillance systems and strengthen community engagement to foster resilience against health threats. Interested organizations are encouraged to submit feedback on the draft Program Description by December 20, 2023, and can direct inquiries to Hoa Nguyen at hoanguyen@usaid.gov.
