The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is offering cooperative agreements for the Garrett Lee Smith State/Tribal Youth Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention Program. This program aims to support states and Tribes in implementing youth suicide prevention and early intervention strategies in various settings such as schools, educational institutions, juvenile justice systems, substance use and mental health programs, foster care systems, pediatric health programs, and other child- and youth-serving organizations. The program is open to eligible applicants, including states and territories, public organizations or private non-profit organizations designated by a State or Indian Tribe, and Federally recognized Indian tribes, tribal organizations, or urban Indian organizations actively involved in the development and continuation of a tribal youth suicide early intervention and prevention strategy. The program has an estimated total funding of $14,932,933, with an award ceiling of $735,000. The closing date for applications is June 3, 2024.
