The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is offering grants aimed at the expansion and sustainability of comprehensive community mental health services for children with serious emotional disturbances (SED). The program's objective is to enhance mental health outcomes for children and youth, from birth to age 21, who are at risk for or experiencing SED, by implementing and integrating a System of Care (SOC) approach that fosters sustainable infrastructure and services. This initiative is crucial for preparing these young individuals for successful transitions into adulthood and fulfilling adult roles and responsibilities. The total estimated program funding is approximately $30.4 million, with an award ceiling of $3 million and an expected 23 awards to be made.
