The Department of Agriculture, specifically the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), is seeking qualified contractors for the mechanical topping of Carrizo Cane along the Rio Grande River as part of the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program (CFTEP). The project encompasses approximately 165-200 miles of invasive Carrizo Cane, which poses a habitat for cattle fever ticks, and aims to enhance visibility for enforcement agencies while promoting environmental compliance. Contractors must demonstrate technical capability, provide qualified personnel and equipment, and adhere to safety protocols, with evaluations based on price, past performance, and technical capability.
