The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Seattle District, is conducting a market survey regarding the use of a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) for the design and construction of a new outpatient medical facility (Phase 2B, B201) at the American Lake Veterans Hospital campus in Tacoma, Washington. This facility will encompass approximately 74,500 square feet and will support various medical services, including cardiology, gastrointestinal, pathology, pharmacy, and surgical services, among others. The project is significant, with an estimated construction cost ranging between $100 million and $250 million, and the government is seeking input from the construction community on the potential benefits and challenges of implementing a PLA for this large-scale project. Interested parties can direct their comments and inquiries to John Scola at john.p.scola@usace.army.mil or Andrea Jackson at Andrea.G.Jackson@usace.army.mil, as responses will inform future acquisition decisions.
