The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Air Products s.a/n.v in Belgium for specialized Experis Treated Cylinders, which are critical for the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Global Atmospheric Watch program. The Gas Sensing Metrology Group (GSMG) requires these cylinders to ensure the long-term stability of certified monoterpene standards, essential for monitoring atmospheric impacts on air quality and climate change. Research has shown that Air Products’ cylinders provide unmatched stability compared to alternative U.S. suppliers, making them indispensable for effective environmental monitoring. Interested parties may respond by September 9, 2024, for consideration, and inquiries can be directed to Tish Walker at latish.walker@nist.gov.
