Summary

Solicitation from the Department of Energy is requesting a fixed price quote for a modular water chiller. The chiller should have two independent cooling circuits, each providing a minimum of 28 kW cooling capacity at 60 degrees F. The initial purchase is for one module, but the system should be expandable up to at least 200 kW total capacity. The chiller must meet ASHRAE 15 code requirements and be provided with a control system capable of monitoring and generating alarms for abnormal conditions. The preferred power requirements are 480 Volts/3-phase power, 60 Hz. The chiller controller should be capable of interfacing with an external control system using a Modbus TCP/IP interface. Variable speed or digital scroll compressor type and brazed plate heat exchangers are preferred.

Description

FERMILAB REQUESTS YOUR FIRM FIXED PRICE QUOTE FOR THE FOLLOWING MODULAR WATER CHILLER: 1 EACH MODULAR WATER CHILLIER PER SPECIFICATIONS BELOW: A modular water-cooled water chiller. Each module shall include two independent cooling circuits. Each circuit must provide a minimum of 28 kW (96,000 Btu/h or 8 tons) cooling capacity at 60 degrees F, for a total of at least 56 kW per 2-circuit module. We will initially purchase one module. The system must be expandable with the addition of more modules up to at least 200 kW total capacity. Shall meet ASHRAE 15 code requirements. A certification shall be provided by the vendor stating that the unit is code compliant.  Power requirements: 480 Volts/ 3-phase power, 60 Hz The system shall be provided with a control system capable of monitoring the correct functioning of each chiller circuit and generating alarms for out of normal conditions. The chiller controller must be capable of interfacing with an external control system using a Modbus TCP/IP interface. Variable speed or digital scroll compressor type is preferred. Brazed plate heat exchangers are preferred type for both condenser and evaporator. SARC AND PUR466 MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH ALL PROPOSALS.
