    Special Notice DEPT OF DEFENSE DEPT OF THE AIR FORCE is seeking services for Alaska Radar System Operations and Maintenance. This service involves the operations and maintenance of 15 geographically separated long-range radar sites, three remote radio sites, and the Maintenance Control and Communications Center activities of the Regional Air Operations Center at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The radar operations support the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the United States Northern Command mission for air sovereignty within Alaska, as well as provide civil aircraft information to the Federal Aviation Administration. The service is critical to the success of the Alaska Radar System mission and cannot be separated into separate requirements without unreasonable cost, schedule, and performance risk to the Government.
