The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is preparing to issue a Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) for the Safety and Mission Assurance Services (SMAS) II contract, aimed at supporting various NASA facilities including the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF), and Stennis Space Center (SSC). The contract will encompass a wide range of safety and mission assurance disciplines, such as System Safety, Reliability and Maintainability, Software Assurance, and Quality Engineering, among others. This initiative is critical for ensuring the safety and reliability of NASA's missions and operations, with the DRFP expected to be released around September 11, 2024, followed by the formal RFP on or about November 22, 2024. Interested parties should monitor the NASA website for updates and are encouraged to participate in a virtual industry day briefing scheduled for September 25, 2024; inquiries can be directed to Maranda McCord at maranda.b.mccord@nasa.gov.
