Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Kitware Software Integration and Maintenance Support

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Centers for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) plans to procure, on a sole source basis, Kitware Software Integration and Maintenance Support from Emory University. This acquisition is for the purpose of continued access to the Emory University Imaging Software and Services, which is a custom developed software capability for the NCI on prem and cloud environments. The current Kitware implementation is an optimization, update, and extension that must coordinate, connect, or interface with the existing system and extend to other file types used for whole slide images used by NCI systems. The Emory University Imaging Software and Services maintains continuous operations including integration of new software to update to the NCI environment for new images and workflows. If not maintained, the ability of the NCI to support known researchers with whole slide imaging data will be vastly limited and will experience significantly delayed integration into the imaging analysis platforms.
