The US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service seeks contractors for shallow shotgun DNA sequencing and analysis to support dietary research. The goal is to track species-level changes in gut microbiota, requiring next-generation sequencing technology.
The scope of work involves processing and analyzing DNA samples, with a minimum of 3 million reads per sample, and delivering genotyping and raw data files. Contractors must provide a user-friendly platform for data access and analysis, employing alpha and beta diversity measures, and other statistical methods, within a 45-day turnaround time. The work must be completed in collaboration with USDA scientists.
Offerors should possess expertise in DNA sequencing and analysis, be capable of delivering the required technology and services, and have a track record of successful project performance. Quotes should include a technical narrative, past performance references, and a fixed price valid for at least 60 days.
The contract will be firm-fixed-price, with evaluations based on price, technical capability, and past performance. Vendors must submit their quotes by the deadline and ensure their certifications are up-to-date in the System for Award Management database. The desired period of performance is 60 days, and the estimated contract value is variable, depending on the options exercised.
