The Department of Defense, specifically the Naval Sea Systems Command under the Department of the Navy, is preparing to issue a Request for Solutions (RFS) for a Low Cost Unmanned Maritime Solution. This initiative aims to develop two distinct unmanned maritime prototypes, varying in length from 0ft-20ft and 20ft-85ft, to meet multi-mission operability and survivability requirements while incorporating specific communication and detection capabilities. The project is crucial for enhancing military maritime operations and will utilize the authority under 10 U.S. Code § 4022 to evaluate experimental performance and support innovative technology development. Interested vendors must be members of the Expeditionary Missions Consortium - Crane (EMC2) and can expect the RFS to be released around November 20, 2024. For further inquiries, vendors may contact Amber Lyons-Wright at amber.r.lyonswright.civ@us.navy.mil or Sydney Wittmann at sydney.l.wittmann.civ@us.navy.mil.
