The Department of Defense, through the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC), is issuing a Request for Project Information (RPI) to explore advancements in platelet and platelet-like products, addressing critical clinical challenges related to blood supply limitations during emergencies. The initiative aims to gather insights from both MTEC members and non-members to inform a State of the Technology Meeting scheduled for February 4-6, 2025, in Bethesda, MD, where innovative research and technologies pertinent to platelet products will be discussed. This meeting is crucial for enhancing medical responses to blood-vascular injuries in military and civilian contexts, particularly during trauma and disaster scenarios. Interested parties are encouraged to submit Project Information Papers via the BIDS platform, with inquiries directed to Dr. Chuck Hutti at chuck.hutti@ati.org or MTEC Program Manager Evan Kellinger at mtec-sc@ati.org.
