The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is seeking proposals for the development of tools and methodologies to transition high-fidelity (HF) codes to leverage heterogeneous accelerated processing units (APUs) as part of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The objective is to create a performance analysis toolkit that will enable developers to optimize and refactor legacy HF codes for efficient use on DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) systems, which are increasingly reliant on APUs for enhanced computational performance. This initiative is critical for improving the simulation capabilities related to weapon effects and countering weapons of mass destruction, as it aims to facilitate the transition of complex codes to modern architectures while ensuring compatibility across various vendor offerings. Proposals are due by June 12, 2024, with the opportunity opening on May 15, 2024.
