The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is seeking non-federal partners of the Chesapeake Watershed Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to develop an ecosystem services evaluation decision framework through a cooperative agreement. The project aims to create a web-based platform that quantifies the value of ecosystem services related to water resource projects and federally managed lands, with a particular focus on metrics determination and an assessment of oyster reef restoration in the Gulf of Mexico. This initiative is critical for integrating economic, environmental, and social considerations into public land management, ultimately enhancing public benefits and optimizing taxpayer resources. The total funding available for this opportunity is $1.5 million, with a single award ceiling of $525,000, and interested applicants must submit a Statement of Interest by February 9, 2024, followed by a full proposal due by March 11, 2024. For further inquiries, applicants can contact Kisha M. Craig at kisha.m.craig@usace.army.mil or by phone at 601-634-5397.
