The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering the Fiscal Year 2024 Grants to Tribal Governments Victim Service Providers for Financial Assistance to Victims of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Special Initiative. This grant program aims to provide flexible financial assistance to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking through established tribal victim service providers, addressing the significant unmet needs within tribal communities. The initiative, authorized by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022, seeks to empower victims by allowing them to meet self-identified needs quickly and effectively, thereby preventing crises such as homelessness. Interested applicants, who must be current grantees with an active OVW Tribal Governments Program award, can apply for funding ranging from $1 to $100,000, with a total estimated program funding of $1.5 million and approximately 15 awards expected. The application deadline is August 20, 2024, and for further assistance, applicants can contact OVW at OVW.TribalSpecialInitiative@usdoj.gov or call 202-307-6026.
