The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering fiscal year 2024 Local Law Enforcement Grants for Enforcement of Cybercrimes Program. This program aims to support efforts by states, Indian tribes, and units of local government to prevent, enforce, and prosecute cybercrimes against individuals. Cybercrimes against individuals refer to criminal offenses that involve the use of a computer to harass, threaten, stalk, extort, coerce, cause fear to, or intimidate an individual. It also includes the distribution of intimate images of an adult without consent. The program does not cover cybercrimes against commercial entities, government agencies, or nonnatural persons. The Cybercrimes Enforcement Program provides training for law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, judges, and judicial personnel on cybercrimes against individuals. It also offers assistance to law enforcement agencies in enforcing laws, educating the public, supporting victim assistants, establishing task forces, and acquiring necessary computers and equipment for investigations and forensic analysis. The grant has an award ceiling of $500,000 and an estimated total program funding of $5,000,000. The closing date for applications is April 29, 2024.
