The Department of Energy's Golden Field Office is preparing to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) titled “Concentrating Solar Flux to Heat and Power” aimed at advancing next-generation concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) technologies. This initiative will focus on research and development in three critical areas: scalable concentrating solar collectors, supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) turbomachinery, and concentrating solar-thermal receivers and reactors, aligning with the Biden Administration's clean energy goals. With approximately $30 million in federal funding available, individual awards will range from $750,000 to $10 million, and interested applicants must register in EERE eXCHANGE, SAM, FedConnect, and Grants.gov to participate. The official announcement is expected around March 2024, and for further inquiries, applicants can contact David Brown at david.brown6@ee.doe.gov.
