The Department of Homeland Security, through FEMA, is offering the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) to enhance firefighter and public safety by providing financial assistance to eligible fire departments, non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations, and State Fire Training Academies. The program aims to equip and train emergency personnel, improve operational efficiencies, and foster community resilience through the provision of personal protective equipment, training, and emergency response vehicles. With an estimated total funding of $291.6 million and approximately 2,000 awards projected over a 24-month period, applications will be accepted from November 12, 2024, until December 20, 2024.
