The Department of Homeland Security, through FEMA, is offering the Community Assistance Program State Support Services Element (CAP-SSSE) grant to support states in achieving flood loss reduction objectives under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This program aims to provide technical assistance to NFIP communities and evaluate their performance in implementing floodplain management activities, thereby enhancing community and state expertise in floodplain management. The total estimated funding for this program is $7.5 million, with a non-federal match requirement of 25% for all states receiving funds, and interested states should coordinate with their FEMA regional office to determine application deadlines and develop cooperative agreements.
