The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering a federal grant opportunity titled the "Demonstration Program on Trauma-Informed, Victim Centered Training for Law Enforcement on Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking (Abby Honold Program)." This program aims to enhance law enforcement's response to allegations of sexual assault by providing training that incorporates trauma-informed and victim-centered techniques, thereby improving communication between victims and law enforcement and reducing the risk of re-traumatization. The grant will support state, territorial, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies, with a total estimated funding of $6 million available for approximately 12 awards, each ranging from $500,000. Interested applicants must submit their proposals by July 18, 2025, and can reach out to OVW at OVW.AbbyHonold@usdoj.gov for further assistance.
