Gender-Focused Activity in Northeast Syria

USAID is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential partners for a gender-focused activity in Northeast Syria, with a deadline for submission on October 27, 2022. This initiative aims to address socio-economic barriers faced by women, particularly in the context of a post-conflict environment, economic collapse, and cultural restrictions. Organizations—especially local Syrian entities—are encouraged to respond with information as outlined in Attachment A. The EOI is not a commitment for funding or future solicitations but aims to gather insights about effective strategies for enhancing women’s economic participation and addressing gender barriers in the region. The document details the current challenges women face, including increased domestic responsibilities due to displacement and conflict, alongside barriers to livelihoods and access to education. USAID is interested in organizations experienced in promoting gender equity, creating job opportunities for women, and implementing innovative, localized programming.
