The U.S. Mission to Cameroon is inviting applications for the Capacity Building Program for Leadership of Media Associations, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Cameroonian media leaders. This program seeks to facilitate the participation of four to five Cameroonian leaders from trade unions or media associations in a ten-day international leadership program in the United States, focusing on the operations of U.S. media associations and trade unions. The initiative is particularly significant in light of ongoing challenges to press freedom in Cameroon, as it aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to better defend press freedom and enhance organizational effectiveness upon their return. Interested U.S.-based non-profit organizations must submit proposals by September 8, 2024, with a funding ceiling of $50,000 and a floor of $49,000 for the project. For further inquiries, applicants can contact the Public Affairs Officer at pasgrantsyaounde@state.gov.
