The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) focused on advancements in plant genetic engineering for energy applications. This RFI aims to gather insights from plant scientists, molecular biologists, and industry stakeholders regarding the acceleration of genetic modifications, expansion of modification capabilities, and improvement of plant regeneration processes, particularly in relation to biofuel production, chemical synthesis, carbon sequestration, and phytomining. While this RFI does not constitute a funding opportunity, it serves as a platform for contributors to share their perspectives to inform ARPA-E's future research initiatives aimed at sustainable energy solutions. Responses are due by November 11, 2024, and should be submitted in PDF format to ARPA-E-RFI@hq.doe.gov, with further details available at https://arpa-e-foa.energy.gov.
