The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced the availability of approximately $91,000,000 in total funding for its Community Compass Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Program. This program aims to help customers navigate complex housing and community development challenges by providing knowledge, skills, tools, and capacity to implement HUD's programs and policies. The funding includes $88,500,000 in FY 2024 funding for the Community Compass program and up to $2,500,000 in FY 2023 funding for the Thriving Communities Technical Assistance program. The program also addresses emerging priorities such as community violence intervention, compliance with the Violence Against Women Act, climate resilience, housing needs of youth, and environmental reviews. Eligible applicants include NAHASDA-eligible Indian tribes, national or regional organizations representing Native American housing interests, metropolitan planning organizations, councils of government, regional planning entities, and small and disadvantaged businesses. The application deadline is June 20, 2024. For more information, visit the HUD website.
