Description

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is offering Native American Library Services Enhancement Grants. This program aims to assist Native American tribes in improving core library services for their communities. The grants are designed to support the improvement of digital services for education, workforce development, economic and business development, health information, critical thinking skills, and digital literacy skills. Additionally, the grants aim to enhance educational programs related to specific topics and content areas of interest to library patrons and community-based users. The program also focuses on the preservation and revitalization of Native American cultures and languages. Federally Recognized Native American Tribal Governments are eligible to apply. The grant has an award ceiling of $150,000 and an award floor of $10,000. The estimated total program funding is $3,750,000, and it is expected that 29 awards will be granted. The closing date for applications is April 1, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit the Native American Library Services Enhancement Grants webpage. For any inquiries, contact Jennifer Himmelreich, Senior Program Officer, at jhimmelreich@imls.gov or Sheena Afoakwa, Program Specialist, at safoakwa@imls.gov.
