The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is inviting applications for the Preservation Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions program, aimed at enhancing the preservation and management of humanities collections at small and mid-sized institutions. This grant program specifically targets organizations that have not previously received NEH funding, including community colleges, minority-serving institutions, and Native American tribes, with a focus on activities such as preservation assessments, preventive care, and collections management. With an estimated total funding of $550,000 available for approximately 55 grants, each grant can provide up to $10,000, with an additional $5,000 for projects in non-contiguous states. Applications are due by January 9, 2025, and interested parties can reach out to the Division of Preservation and Access at NEH via email at preservation@neh.gov for further information.
