The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking local partners to implement the Foundational Learning “Targeted Instruction (TI)” activity in Tanzania, aimed at enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy for grades 1 to 5 learners in public primary schools across select regions. The initiative will employ a learner-centric pedagogical approach that tailors math and reading instruction to students' actual learning levels, rather than adhering strictly to grade-level curricula. This effort is crucial for improving educational outcomes in Tanzania, emphasizing the development of teachers' assessment capabilities, ability-based student grouping, and community engagement. Interested organizations must submit their proposals by November 19, 2024, detailing their relevant experience and collaboration with the Tanzanian government, with inquiries directed to Terry Malekia at tmalekia@usaid.gov or Ashley Burgin at aburgin@usaid.gov.
