The Department of Defense, through the 377th Air Base Wing, is soliciting proposals for the removal, disposal, and installation of sodium nickel batteries at communication building 1004 located at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The contractor will be responsible for removing existing lead-acid batteries and power inverters, installing five new sodium nickel battery modules, and providing Ethernet remote monitoring capabilities, along with additional electrical infrastructure. This initiative aims to modernize energy storage systems while promoting eco-friendly solutions, reflecting the Air Force's commitment to upgrading essential infrastructure sustainably.
