The Department of Defense, specifically the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), is planning to procure a replacement for the Tractor, Rubber Tired, Articulated Steering, Multi-Purpose (TRAM) through a full and open competition. The new TRAM is designed to enhance the Marine Corps' engineering capabilities by functioning as both a multipurpose bucket loader with a minimum capacity of 2.5 cubic yards and a forklift with a minimum lifting capacity of 12,000 pounds, aiming for 15,000 pounds. This equipment will be utilized by combat, combat support, and combat service support units, requiring operation over rough terrains such as sand, snow, and mud. The solicitation is anticipated to be released in the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2025, with a five-year ordering period, and interested vendors should monitor official government websites for updates.
