The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is hosting a virtual Industry Day on December 11th from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM to inform companies about the manufacturing and sale of Airborne Position Reference Tools (APRTs). These tools are intended to enhance situational awareness for air traffic control towers that are staffed by non-federal controllers and lack Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systems (STARS). The APRTs will serve as supplemental tools for visual observations and radio communications, but they cannot be used for maintaining aircraft separation or connected to FAA networks. Interested parties must register for the event via the provided link and can direct any questions to Michael J. Schoen at Michael.J.Schoen@faa.gov or by phone at 202-267-9841.
