The Department of Defense, through the Navy Exchange Service Command, is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify domestic manufacturers capable of producing development samples of women's Service Dress jumpers in blue and white for the U.S. Navy. The procurement aims to gather insights on the availability of cut and sew manufacturers who can provide samples made from specified materials, including wool serge for the blue jumper and polyester twill for the white jumper, in accordance with military specifications. This initiative is crucial for maintaining the quality and standards of naval uniforms, ensuring compliance with U.S. government regulations, particularly the Berry Amendment, which restricts the acquisition of foreign products. Interested parties must submit their proposals, including garment samples and relevant documentation, by December 30, 2024, to Haile Verville at haile.a.verville.civ@us.navy.mil or Amalia Anton Sipoteanu at amalia.g.antonsipoteanu.civ@us.navy.mil, with physical samples sent to the Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility in Natick, Massachusetts.
