The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, is seeking proposals for the construction of the Fort Cavazos Phantom Warrior Microgrid in Texas. This project aims to establish a stand-alone autonomous electrical power system that will provide electricity to both critical and non-critical loads, utilizing a combination of natural gas-fueled engines, solar photovoltaic arrays, and battery energy storage systems. The microgrid is essential for enhancing energy resilience at military installations, ensuring reliable power supply during both normal and emergency situations. The anticipated contract, valued between $25 million and $100 million, is expected to be awarded as a Firm-Fixed-Price contract to Dominion Privatization Texas, LLC, with the solicitation release anticipated around May 30, 2025.
