The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is seeking qualified contractors for the repair of the Bar Harbor breakwater in Maine, a critical infrastructure project aimed at restoring the structure's integrity. The project involves extensive work on a 2,400-foot rubblemound breakwater, including dismantling, reworking, and reinstalling existing armor stone, as well as acquiring and installing new armor stone, with an estimated construction cost between $10 million and $25 million. This breakwater serves to protect the anchorage and wharves in Bar Harbor from adverse weather conditions, supporting various marine activities including cruise ships and commercial fishing.
