The Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, is seeking qualified sources for the acquisition of multiple forms of mitigation banking credits within the Yazoo Backwater Basin Area. This procurement aims to secure compensatory mitigation credits necessary to offset unavoidable impacts to wetlands and aquatic resources due to the construction and operation of the Yazoo Backwater Pumping Plant, with a requirement for up to 27,354 Average Annual Functional Capacity Units (AAFCUs) and 352 Annual Average Habitat Units (AAHUs) for Shorebird Habitat. The selected mitigation credits must be sourced from a USACE certified Mitigation Bank or In-Lieu Fee Program, with all necessary credits to be secured by Fiscal Year 2028, prior to the commencement of construction.
