The Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is preparing to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Erie Pier Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) Materials Management project in Duluth, Minnesota. The objective of this procurement is to remove approximately 55,000 cubic yards of fine-grained dredged material from the Erie Pier CDF and transport it to designated upland sites for beneficial reuse, while also restoring haul roads to pre-work conditions. This project is critical for maintaining the operational integrity of the Duluth Superior Harbor and ensuring effective management of dredged materials. The contract will be a firm-fixed price and is set aside for small businesses, with an estimated value between $1 million and $5 million. Interested contractors should prepare for the solicitation, expected to be posted in late November to early December 2024, and must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to submit bids.
