The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is soliciting information for a feasibility study regarding the replacement of Pratt & Whitney TF33 engines on the WB-57 aircraft. The primary objectives include identifying viable replacement engine options, assessing performance improvements, and gathering rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for the engine replacement. The WB-57 aircraft is a high-altitude platform utilized for atmospheric research and sensor testing, and NASA aims to modernize its fleet for long-term sustainability. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements by May 22, 2025, to Joshua D. Taggart at joshua.d.taggart@nasa.gov, with no solicitation currently available.
