The Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is conducting a Sources Sought notice for the Soo Facility Lighting and Modernization project in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The project aims to demolish existing lighting fixtures and underground wiring, followed by the installation of approximately 67 new LED light poles and associated electrical wiring to enhance park illumination, security, and operational efficiency. This modernization effort is crucial for improving the safety and usability of the park areas adjacent to the Soo Locks Visitor Center. Interested contractors are encouraged to submit their capabilities and past project experiences by June 18, 2025, with an estimated construction cost between $1 million and $5 million.
