The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District, is seeking industry responses for the Sabine Neches Waterway Channel Improvement Project, specifically focusing on the East Black Bayou Mitigation in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The project aims to restore 1,304 acres of marsh, enhance 434 acres of shallow water, and nourish 1,926 acres of existing marsh using sediments dredged from the Lake Charles Deepwater Channel, with a construction budget estimated between $138 million and $168 million. This initiative is crucial for improving local waterway infrastructure and ensuring compliance with various regulatory frameworks while promoting competition among small businesses, including those under socioeconomic programs. Interested parties must submit their qualifications by March 5, 2025, with a potential solicitation issuance anticipated for May 2034; for further inquiries, contact Willie Hodges at willie.e.hodges@usace.army.mil or Traci Robicheaux at traci.d.robicheaux@usace.army.mil.
