Sources Sought HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH is seeking qualified sources to perform a potential requirement for HCR FISH detection of cryptic RNAs. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources. The service/item being procured is a platform technology for capture and imaging of single extracellular vesicles (EVs), as well as optimization of smFISH technology. The contractor will manage the receiving and safe storage of CSF samples, provide research fellows and assistants, provide relevant protocols and material lists, provide regular updates on sample processing, provide analyzed data and summary reports, apply methods to fix and permeabilize EVs for RNA labeling and imaging, optimize fixative selection and duration of fixation, apply methods to detect EV-associated cryptic exons in STMN2, test combinations of single and multiple probes, optimize parameters for sensitivity of cryptic exon detection, apply methods to detect STMN2 cryptic exons in CSF and plasma samples from patients with ALS or FTD, and potentially analyze additional CSF samples based on initial results. The anticipated period of performance is from 2/1/2024 to 1/31/2025 with an option for an additional 12-month period. Small businesses are encouraged to respond. Interested companies should submit documentation of their ability to meet the project requirements, including company information, qualifications of personnel, and any relevant contracts or certifications.
