The Department of Defense (DOD) is seeking proposals for the topic of "UAS TRACKING SYSTEM" in their SBIR 24.1 BAA solicitation. The Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC) aims to enhance UAS tracking capabilities to mitigate the emerging threat of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The objective is to develop a compact and lightweight UAS tracking device that can detect and track multiple UAS simultaneously, provide real-time updates on their position and other relevant information, differentiate between friendly and hostile UAS, and integrate with other USAF systems and equipment. The device should also be rugged, durable, and capable of operating in diverse environments and weather conditions. The project will involve a Direct-to-Phase-II (D2P2) approach, with Phase I-type development already completed. The second phase will focus on the design, development, and testing of the UAS tracking device. Potential dual-use applications for the product include border security and critical infrastructure protection. The solicitation is closed, and more information can be found on the DOD SBIR website.
