The Department of Defense (DOD) is seeking proposals for the topic "DEMISE - DEploy Material Into Space Experiments" as part of the SBIR 24.2 Annual solicitation. The Air Force is the branch responsible for this topic. The objective of this topic is to explore concepts, develop prototypes, conduct sub-scale experiments, and perform test and evaluation of technology to standardize containerization of cargo for space deployment. The goal is to develop container technologies that can survive the vacuum of space and be deployed into space, allowing for the delivery of large payloads globally with speed. The main deliverables will be sub-scale experiments, tests, and demonstrations that advance operational imperatives. This is a Direct-to-Phase-II (D2P2) topic, meaning no Phase I awards will be made. Phase II efforts will focus on conducting sub-scale experiments and providing test articles for further testing and demonstration. Phase III will involve upgrading analysis, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation results, and providing mature prototypes of system concepts. The technology within this topic is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulation (EAR). The deadline for proposal submission is June 12, 2024. For more information, visit the solicitation agency's website at [solicitation_agency_url].
