The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is seeking innovative solutions from small businesses to develop a non-invasive, non-destructive method for measuring the pressure within the Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessel (COPV) of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Divert and Attitude Control System (DACS). The objective is to ensure the integrity of the COPV during assembly and throughout Stockpile Reliability Testing (SRT) by accurately measuring helium pressure without removing the COPV from the DACS. This technology is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of the THAAD system and could have dual-use applications in other pressurant systems across various government programs. Proposals are due by June 12, 2024, with further details available on the DOD SBIR website.
